Industrial Symbiosis for the Sustainable Management of Raw Materials
 
Project type: Network of Infrastructure within EIT Raw Materials
Project runs from 1st January 2016 till 31st December 2018
 
Within the frame of the European Initiative on Raw Materials (EIT Raw Materials), the Project objective is to implement a long term self-sustainable excellence Network dedicated to provide services to external customers for the implementation of innovative, sustainable business and cooperation models of circular economy for the all-round recycling and exploitation of raw materials from end of life complex products with more attention for secondary products. Moreover, the purpose of the network is to facilitate the exploitation of European secondary resources via the integration and strengthening of already existing competences and infrastructures, as well as new forms of collaboration (complementary competences, instrumentation, software, database, best practices, etc.) between companies. The project will cover in particular valuable materials, such as raw materials, metals scrap, WEEE and end-of-life tyres in order to recirculate in the economy its materials and components (wide range of precious and specialty metals, critical materials, plastics, rubber).
Target audience will be SMEs, industrial parks and responsible authorities, with the following main impacts: new business models, industrial competitiveness, innovation capacity, environmental and social sustainability, human capitals.
