The Authorities of the Faculty stress that the new name emphasises the significance od geodesy as science and corresponds with the current research development, education and aspirations of the Faculty staff. The Faculty profile includes spatial data, satelite data, surveying, data analyses and monitoring of natural and anthropogenic threats.
The new name unambiguously positions the Faculty among the basic units of the universities in international databases, which can be helpful in making the University more internationl and receiving partners for new projects.
